A Case of Ramsay Hunt Syndrome Complicated with Meningitis




Abstract
Ramsay hunt syndrome is characterized by herpetic skin eruption on external ear, radicular neuralgia, facial palsy, hearing loss vertigo after Varicella Zoster virus infection(VZV), Acute aseptic meningitis following VZV infection has been rare,
but is
increasing after improvement of VZV specific Ab detecting technique. We experience a patient of Ramsay hunt syndrome with acute aseptic meningitis. This relatively 52 year female revealed fever, meningeal irritation sign, CSF pleocytosis and
positive
VZV specific IgM Ab in serum. We reported this case with literature review.
